Description

Gardenscapes is a match-3 game in which you rebuild and redesign Austin’s villa’s backyard. You gain a star for completing Austin’s chores if you complete a level. These can include anything from planting flowers to constructing a tree-house. This game comes up with a variety of jobs for you to complete, so you’re never just working on one item at a time. Of course, the number of stars you need to finish a certain activity can change. Rebuilding a tree-house requires two or three stars whilst replacing some flowers costs one star. Completing tasks can take some time, but at least we get to play some additional levels while we wait.

If you want to “pop” blocks in Gardenscapes, you’ll need to bring three of the same kind together in a row. Power-ups such as rockets, explosives, TNT, and rainbow bursts can be obtained by matching four or more identical blocks. New blocks and mechanics will be introduced as you progress through the game, making things more difficult as you complete each level. Some examples are chains, acorns, and water holes.

Editor’s Review & How To Play

There is a common theme across the match-3 games I’ve played so far: they are simply too simple. Fortunately, Gardenscapes features a fair balance of easy and difficult levels. If you don’t have any power-ups, level 29 is a bit of a challenge. If you don’t want to waste your rainbow blasts (since you’ve already failed four times), you’ll probably need some luck on this level.

It’s a good thing that there are so many levels in this game, as it makes it more enjoyable because people don’t just breeze through them all and call it a day. The shovel, for example, is a tiny power-up that is necessary at times to complete the level.

Clearing difficult stages will get you access to this cash, which can be used to customise entire areas or single items. In order to purchase all “skins,” you must first clear a set number of levels. You also gain points based on the number of tries it takes you to clear a level. You get decent rewards like power-ups, cash, or extra lives every few points. Once you’ve completed the season pass and reached level 30, you’ll be rewarded with a special item, such as a profile image. Like many other games, you can purchase a “golden ticket” that offers you better rewards after completing each level of the battle pass.
