Players have the option to start the game in either the single-player or the multiplayer mode of Soul Knight, depending on whatever mode best suits their play style at the moment they enter the game. The single-player game features both a dungeon and an endless mode. In the dungeon, players select a character, equip them with a weapon, and attempt to clear the level by slaying the various enemies that populate the environment. Following the successful elimination of a monster, a player will receive both gold and energy as a prize. Players will face a large boss at the end of each major level, and if they are successful in defeating that fight, they will unlock more bonus goods.

In the multiplayer mode, players can compete against one another online with other players who are on the same local area network (LAN). In this mode, there can be up to four players online at the same time.

In addition, there are other playable characters from which to select, each of whom belongs to a unique occupation and, as a result, possesses an own set of skills and capabilities. When you first start the game, not all of the characters will be accessible to you. In order to gain different characters, players will need to keep working hard and collecting incentives throughout the game.

In addition to taking on responsibilities as characters, players have the option of acquiring pets and exchanging gems for the ability to customize their appearance. Pets are able to fight back, yet they cannot be eliminated.
