Editor’s Review & How To Play

The player creates his character at the start of the game and gives him ownership of a plot of land in Pelican as well as the modest home that his grandfather formerly lived in. Players can select from a variety of agricultural map types, each of which has advantages and disadvantages. Players must work to remove stones, trees, stumps, and weeds from farmland in order to reuse it, raise crops and cattle to earn money, and further develop the farm’s buildings and equipment.

The town’s non-player characters (NPCs), with whom players can connect and eventually get married so they can help the player take care of the farm, are also playable. Aside from mining minerals in artificially created caves and battling in-game creatures, players can also indulge in fishing, cooking, and crafting. Players can complete numerous tasks to increase their earnings.

Health bars and exhaustion levels are present on characters. If the player feels weak anywhere outside the house, they can stop the activity, pay up to 10% of 1000 grams of gold, and come back the next morning after regaining their strength. A player will lose the majority of their energy, as well as an undetermined sum of money and stuff, if they lose too much health. The months in the game influence which crops may be cultivated and which activities can be advantageous. The calendar is simplified with only four months every year, which correspond to the four seasons. Players can build greenhouses later on in the game to grow any crop, regardless of the season.
