Description

A team of your choice can be controlled in Stickman Soccer, a soccer (football) game that features 32 teams. You can only select one of four teams in this game’s current iteration. You would need to make the “Become a Pro” in-app payment to gain access to the remaining 28 teams.

Either a MOGA controller or a touchscreen are required to play this game. Depending on the focus of your gameplay, you can switch between automated and manual running if you choose to use the touchscreen on your smartphone.

Choose manual mode, which consists of a virtual joystick and contextual command buttons, if you desire complete control over your players. In “automatic” mode, the game handles the labor-intensive tasks, leaving you to focus on where the ball should go by tapping on the correct location.

Simple commands make up the manual controls. I couldn’t locate options for lobbed passing or through passing. The headers and crosses are two more noticeable exclusions that I wish were present because they may have given my playthroughs more diversity.

Offside regulations don’t appear to apply in this game. Additionally, I haven’t yet discovered any instances of my squad or another team fouling. These concepts, along with the yellow/red card system and other elements typical of actual soccer games, were reportedly added in the 2018 debut.

You can pick from Quick Game, Seasons, and Training Mode, which are the three available game modes. Most soccer games have a friendly mode called “Quick Game” where you get to pick your opponent each time. As you play through the 42 rounds in the “Seasons” mode, you can advance in rank by accruing points for each win or tie. As the name implies, “Training Mode” enables you to test your abilities without competing against a clock.

You can choose the level of difficulty and length of each game beforehand. There are three levels of difficulty for each game—Easy, Medium, and Hard—as well as four different game lengths—3, 5, 8, or 15 minutes.

You can play 4v4 street soccer in addition to the standard 11v11 pitch matches; this option is unlocked by either completing the previously mentioned “Become a Pro” IAP or watching six advertisements. I appreciate how the designers gave gamers a choice in how they would “pay” for this function. Street soccer games are a lot of fun, but they might have used a smaller playing field or faster gameplay.

Despite its flaws, Stickman Soccer achieves its goal of becoming an enjoyable mobile soccer game. It must be emphasized that while you might be missing some of the fundamental aspects of soccer in this situation, you can still enjoy the game as it is. If you want a more complete soccer experience, you may also try the most recent version (Stickman Soccer 2018).
